Who we are
A registry for medical-travel decisions
Medical Travel Cost is a global registry of hospitals, treatments and prices for people considering medical care abroad. We bring scattered, hard-to-compare information into one place — so you can weigh options, understand real costs, and reach hospitals directly.
Our mission is to help patients find the right care for their situation, with information they can trust, in a few clicks — not months of searching.

Why we exist
Medical Travel Cost began in December 2022 with a personal loss.
My father fought pancreatic cancer for two years. During that time, two questions stayed with me.
First, why was no one able to coordinate his entire treatment journey? We had excellent doctors, but the overall process felt fragmented — specialists working in isolation rather than as one team.
Second, was there another hospital, another specialist, or another treatment somewhere in the world that could have given us more time together?
We never found the answer. Not because it didn't exist, but because finding it was almost impossible.
Medical information was scattered across countries, languages and thousands of hospital websites. Meaningful price information was rarely available, and comparing treatment options took weeks or months of research. Families facing a life-threatening diagnosis simply don't have that kind of time.
No one should have to search in the dark during the hardest moment of their life.
So we started building the platform we wished had existed.
Medical Travel Cost brings hospitals, specialists, treatments and pricing into one place — making it easier to compare options, understand costs, and connect directly with healthcare providers.
We cannot promise miracles. No responsible company can.
What we can promise is something just as important: greater transparency, faster access to information, and the ability to make better-informed decisions while time still matters.
The problem we saw
- Information is scattered — across countries, languages and thousands of separate hospital websites.
- Prices are hard to compare — meaningful pricing is rarely published — and almost never in one place.
- Language is a barrier — the details that matter are often only in the local language.
- Decisions get made on incomplete information — because assembling the full picture is nearly impossible.
- Serious illness leaves no time — the research can take the months that patients simply don't have.
Our approach
We bring hospitals, specialists, treatments and prices into one place, put them on the same footing, and show our work. Every figure carries how much we trust it:
- Verified — checked against a primary source — a hospital's own price page or an official fee schedule — and corroborated, with a link to that source.
- Published, unverified — a real figure we've collected but not yet independently re-checked; shown plainly, with its source, so you can judge it.
- Sourced or absent — a number we can't cite doesn't get published. It stays blank — never guessed.
- Continually reviewed — healthcare information changes constantly; we re-check it and show when each figure was last looked at.
The full method is on our methodology page, and the verified core is on how we verify prices.
Our principles
- Transparency — we show where every number comes from.
- Accuracy — verified means checked and corroborated, not asserted.
- Clarity — dense medical information, translated into plain language.
- Respect for patients — built for the decision you're facing, never for pressure.
- Continuous improvement — always re-checking, always expanding.
What we believe
- Patients deserve information they can actually understand.
- Better information leads to better decisions.
- Healthcare should be more transparent than it is.
- When you're ill, time is the most valuable resource you have.
Our limitations
We are not a hospital, a healthcare provider, or a medical advisor. We do not diagnose, recommend treatments, or guarantee outcomes. Prices are sourced estimates for comparison, not quotes — always confirm your price and your suitability for treatment directly with the hospital and a qualified clinician. Our role is to organise healthcare information so you can make a more informed decision.
Looking forward
We're early. Today the registry spans 9 countries with 1,636 verified prices, and it grows every week — more hospitals, more treatments, more checked numbers, and better ways to reach the right people. The goal is simple: to become the place patients and their families can trust when they need answers and time is short.
