Methodology

Medical Travel Cost is a price registry. Its only job is to publish what medical procedures cost, with enough provenance that you can judge each number yourself. This page explains exactly where figures come from and what the labels mean.

The registry today

337 procedures · 513 clinics & hospitals · 3162 city-level price ranges · 110 verified per-clinic prices · data last updated 2026-07-20. These counts are live database reads, not copy. Machine consumers: see /llms.txt and the CSV download on every price page (CC BY 4.0).

What the labels mean

✓ Verified
A human checked this exact price against the clinic's published source on the date shown. The source link (↗) sits next to every verified price. Verification expires: if we can't re-confirm a price, the badge comes off.
Unverified
A real figure from research or an unconfirmed source, published with its "as of" date but not yet re-checked against the provider. Treat it as an estimate.
Sample
Placeholder data used during product development. Sample rows use obviously fake names ("Sample Clinic A"), are excluded from structured data, and any page showing them carries a banner saying so.

What we never do

Corrections

If a price is wrong or out of date, send a note through the quote form on the affected procedure page and we'll re-check it against the source within a few days. A dedicated corrections email will be published once the company's domain is set up.
