Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) treatment cost
Deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot in a deep vein, usually of the leg, that causes pain, swelling, warmth and redness and can break off to cause a life-threatening pulmonary embolism. It is diagnosed with Doppler ultrasound and a D-dimer blood test and treated with anticoagulant blood thinners, clot-dissolving drugs, compression and, in some cases, a vena-cava filter.
