Gynecomastia is a benign enlargement of breast tissue in males, usually from an imbalance of oestrogen and testosterone, and distinct from simple fatty tissue. It is assessed with examination, hormone blood tests and breast ultrasound, and persistent or bothersome cases are treated by surgical removal of the tissue and liposuction.
