Leukemia is a cancer of the blood cells that starts in the bone marrow, where abnormal cells crowd out healthy ones. Its four main types (ALL, AML, CLL, CML) are diagnosed with blood tests and bone-marrow sampling and treated with chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, stem-cell transplant or immunotherapy.
